A Mi One

About me

Hi I am Kaye, a first generation Caribbean woman, born in London to Jamaican parents, whose lifelong passion for knitting weaves together creativity, heritage, and community. I was taught by my mother at age 12, and see  knitting not just as a craft but as a meditative practice — each stitch a reflection of love, intention, and resilience.

Community and Connection

In 2019, with a little push from one of my sisters and a desire to break the cycle of home, work, knit, repeat — I started NW10 Knitters. I noticed most knitting groups were based in central or South London, often meeting at inconvenient times for those of us still working. So, I created my own space, right here in North West London.

We meet every other Saturday, welcoming knitters and crocheters of all levels. It’s not just about yarn — it’s about community, creativity, and connection. You can find us @NW10Knitters.
